The Knife is quickly becoming noticed as one of the bands out there that people are excited to listen to and learn more about. There have been countless remixes on their tracks “Heartbeats”, “Pass this on”, “You Take My Breath Away”, and of course their new single, “Silent Shout”, which is perfectly evil and brilliant. I wish Felix Da Housecat would mix them into his work - that guy, while the subject of some scrutiny and mockery, is a brilliant DJ…
The Knife signed with Mute Records a while ago, and have now released three tour dates for the US… one of course being here in NYC at Webster Hall. November 1st is the day to wait for - I’m already getting tickets of course. And to think, I almost flew to Sweden to watch them play- i saved myself some big bucks.
I’ve been taking myself back recently and listening to a ton of Neil Young, especially his live material. My dad got me into him at a very early age (maybe i was 5?) and theres really nothing better than listneing to one of his records all the way through. Its consistency and raw vocals pretty much beat out any of his successors that try so desperately to bring the same vibe to the room that he did, but fail miserably. I’m not naming names.
