On July 14th, 1973, The Everly Brothers split up after Phil smashed his guitar on stage and walked off at the Knotts Berry Farm in California. Do we care??? Of course we do. They had over 35 hits on the US and UK charts and were a major influence for the classic rock of the late 70s and 80s. The duo reunited in in 1983 with a new album produced by Dave Edmunds and written by Paul McCartney. With a total of 26 Billboard Top 40 singles, they were among the first 10 artists to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So… if your parents (grandparents?) didn’t make you listen to The Everly Brothers, then get off the internet, search the attic, and start listening.
